The Wave slow feeder bowl is made from food-grade ceramic with a silicone base and an optional rubberwood stand. The ridged interior slows eating, which can reduce gulping and the discomfort that follows. Ceramic resists odor absorption and goes in the dishwasher. Both pieces are made by PEHOM; country of manufacture is not disclosed by the supplier, so we cannot confirm it here.

When this bowl eventually chips or cracks, ceramic cannot go in curbside recycling bins — it goes to landfill. The silicone base is similarly not accepted by most municipal programs. The rubberwood stand is the most recoverable piece: untreated wood can be composted or accepted by wood-waste programs depending on your municipality.
