Stoneware Olive Oil Bottle | Canard 34oz

The Canard bottle is handmade stoneware, wheel-thrown and fired by ceramists at Gharyan workshop in Libya. Its duck-silhouette profile is a functional shape: the dark, thick walls block light and regulate temperature, which slows oxidation in olive oil, vinegar, or maple syrup. At 34oz it replaces a standard liter bottle on the counter. Each piece is tested food-safe and free of cadmium and lead — Gharyan publishes its heavy-metal testing. Because these are thrown one at a time, minor finger marks or kiln-grid impressions are normal and not defects.

Trade-offs worth knowing: stoneware is durable but not indestructible; a hard drop on tile will crack it. Packaging is not yet disclosed by the vendor — we will update this when we have it. At end of life, unglazed stoneware shards can go into rubble fill or masonry waste; they will not break down in a home compost bin or standard recycling stream.
