At end of life, cotton twill is compostable in an industrial facility if hardware (zippers, grommets) is removed first; most curbside programs will not accept a sewn bag as-is. A fair trade-off: the mesh ventilation panels do their job, but the synthetic lining and metal hardware complicate any composting pathway.
