Naiya Bin

The Naiya Bin is handwoven from braided jute fiber by Fair Trade–certified artisans in Bangladesh. It comes in three sizes — small, medium, and large — and the undyed jute paired with black detail gives it a texture that photographs don't quite capture. Because each bin is made by hand, minor variations in shape and size are normal, not defects.

Jute is a fast-growing plant fiber that will break down in a home compost pile at end of life, provided it hasn't been treated with synthetic coatings (Korissa does not disclose a coating on this item). Packaging details are not specified by the vendor — ask before ordering if that matters to you. The trade-off: jute is not water-tolerant; keep it dry and out of direct sun or it will fade and weaken over time.
