Kata Bin

The Kata Bin is woven from braided jute fiber by Fair Trade–certified artisans in Bangladesh. Jute is a fast-growing plant crop that requires little irrigation; the trade-off is that it can loosen or discolor if exposed to prolonged moisture or direct sunlight, so this bin suits dry indoor use. Available in three sizes: small (4.75" tall × 4.75" round), medium (5" tall × 6.25" round), and large (5.5" tall × 7" round). Slight variation in color and weave is expected in handcrafted goods.

At end of life, the jute body can be home-composted — cut it apart to help it break down. Check with your local program before adding any dye or finishing residue to a municipal compost stream.
